and | adds information. but | shows contrast. because | gives a reason. so | shows a result.
Punctuation
We usually put a comma before but and so when they join two sentences: It was late, so we went home. No comma is needed before because.

Old and fast are opposite ideas here.

What does the word "so" do in this sentence? It started to rain, so we went inside.
Join the two sentences with "because". Write one sentence. I stayed at home. It was raining.
Gal didn't go to the party. She stayed home because she had a test the next day. Copy the word from the text that shows a reason.
